Override Informational Meeting – Tomorrow (5/27) at Kennedy School

The PCC is sponsoring an override informational meeting tomorrow, Thursday, May 27, at 7:00 pm at Kennedy School.  This is an opportunity to learn about the issues affecting the vote scheduled for June 8th.  School Committee member Bill Glynn and Steve Whalen, Vice Chairman of the Town Council, will be there to discuss the issue and take your questions.

The special vote will ask voters to approve an additional $3 million in taxes to be used toward the town’s operating budget in FY11.  The $3 million will be used to restore municipal and educational services and to maintain town roads.

It is important to be educated on this override before you vote.  We encourage your attendance at this event.

Next Size Up Kid’s Consignment Sale this weekend

The sale is located at 15 North Main Street (Route 126) in Bellingham, in the Plaza at Bellingham Common. You’ll find them at the left end of the plaza, under the blue “Kids’ Sale” banner.

If you are looking for quality kid’s items that don’t have to be brand new, stop by at their Kid’s Consignment Sale this weekend. Bring the flyer (also in the PCC website). If you shop more than $10, and they will donate $1 to the Kennedy PCC.

Ladybug Auction Tickets On Sale!

Get Your Ticket Orders in by this Friday, March 19

Tickets to the Live Ladybug Auction are on sale now, but orders must be placed by Friday, March 19.  Click here to print out a ticket order form.

Tickets are only $10 and include admission to the event, appetizers, dinner and dessert.  A cash bar will also be available.

This is one of the most anticipated events of the year!  There will be a live auction, silent auction and raffle, so everyone will have a chance to win.  Bring your friends and family (but no children, please).

The Live Auction consists of themed baskets created by every class at Kennedy School, as well as outings and excursions from Kennedy teachers and personalized items from every grade level.  Some of the items up for bid are:

• Private Backyard Sports session for 10 with Matt McCarthy
• “Night Out” in Boston with a stay at the 4-Diamond Liberty Hotel and Odyssey Dinner Cruise for two
• “Bowling Death Match” for four and pizza party against the 5th grade teachers
• “Martini Madness” with all the fixings
• “Principal for a Morning” with Joan Toye
• “Spa Sensations” basket with gift certificates and items to pamper
• “Franklin Foodie” with more than $300 worth of gift cards to area restaurants
• “Tee it Up” with tickets to the Deutsche Bank Classic PGA Tournament and rounds of golf at Forekicks, Maplegate CC and Glen Ellen CC.

The silent auction and raffle will have unique items as well:  an autographed football from former Patriot Tedy Bruschi, a signed baseball from Red Sox pitcher and All-Star Tim Wakefield, ruby earrings from Joseph’s Jewelers, a swim membership at Park Terrace Swim Club, and a 6-month fitness or tennis membership to the Adirondack Club.
